| Description: | Fire and emergency response departments across the nation face some big challenges staffing their departments. This training contains a number of practical ideas that may fit your community. They are based on this simple premise: The most effective way to get volunteers (recruit) is to keep (retain) the ones you already have. Your current volunteers will be your best recruiters. Each delivery has two parts. In the first, you will learn tactics you can immediately use to help recruit volunteers. The tactics are organized in three categories organizational (how your department is operated), personal (looking at potential volunteers where they are in) and procedural (proven methods used to aid in your recruiting). The second part of each delivery is a working session in which a specific real life plan to recruit more volunteers is developed by participants. You will leave with a prepared outlined developed for your department! Who should attend? This delivery is designed to provide the tools needed to deliver the courses to fire departments across Kansas. The target audience for the end result deliveries would include almost all fire department personnel. Keeping and getting volunteers is a job for everyone! It is recommended ALL officers and fire fighters attend. The mayor, city council members and township trustees will also benefit and play a role in retaining and recruiting! Whenever possible a minimum of five individuals from each department should attend this training for the best results. |
This training is being offered at no cost to the participant through the cooperation of the following agencies:
