Lawrence Journal World – April 28, 2013
From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for April 28, 1988:
- More than 200 firefighters from across Kansas were scheduled to spend the upcoming weekend in Lawrence. The 100th annual convention of the Kansas State Firefighters Association had opened this morning at the Lawrence Holidome. Guest speakers were to offer lectures on safety, training, and current legislative issues of interest to firefighters. A pig roast at Clinton Lake and a parade of firefighting vehicles were also slated to mark the occasion. The parade was to include more than 30 fire vehicles, including a horse-drawn steam engine and one of only three Stutz-Bearcat fire engines ever manufactured.
