A fire late Saturday night in the 2000 block of S.W. Wayne Ave. was intentionally set, the Topeka Fire Department said in a news release.

The incident was reported just before 11 p.m.

Upon arrival, fire crews found flames coming from the front of the single-story, wood-framed business office. Firefighters initiated an offensive attack and kept the blaze confined to the structure.

A preliminary investigation points to arson.

The fire caused $25,000 in structural loss and $5,000 in contents loss, TFD said.
