The southbound outside lane of the Kansas Turnpike will be closed for a short distance until Monday after a spectacular semi fire took place Sunday morning.

Fire was noticed in the semi at mile marker 102, 25 miles southwest of Emporia and five miles northeast of the Matfield Green service, shortly after 11:30 m. The cause of the fire has not been listed but the cab was destroyed.

The driver’s name has not been released. Nobody was hurt in the incident. The semi was carrying cereal.
