Two Grass Fires Reported in Russell County Tuesday

By David Elliott
KRSL – March 7, 2017

Russell County firefighters have contained two grass fires in the area; one southeast of Gorham and another south of Bunker Hill.

The fire southeast of Gorham was near Interstate 70.

Both fires quickly spread due to high winds.

They were both first reported at around 1 PM Tuesday and contained by about 3:30.

One tank battery caught fire and was destroyed, but that’s the only confirmed structure involved.

No injuries were reported.
