Man dies after crash in NE Wichita

KWCH – June 12, 2017


A man is dead following a crash in northeast Wichita.

Wichita Police said they were called out to a wreck near Murdock and Piatt around 6:11 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old man trapped in a wrecked car after crashing into a tree.

Fire crews extracted the man from the car and took him to the hospital in critical condition. The victim died since.

Police are still working to determine whether a shooting is connected to the crash. People called 911 reporting a shooting in the area, but officers have not confirmed that yet. Crews will examine the victim’s body to determine whether he was shot.
