Firefighter Training Equipment

Parsons Sun – June 19, 2017

Parsons firefighter Andrew Johnston demonstrates equipment the Parsons Fire Department received through a collaboration with Parsons High School and Labette County High School. The equipment helps firefighters train daily on pushing up through or pulling down on ceilings (from LCHS) and hammering open a door when needed (from PHS). A third item allows firefighters to swing the hammer down at an object on the trailer to the right (also from PHS). PHS students Cody Stephens and Bryson Patterson helped on the project for PHS. Garrett Bussinger and Dalton Hawks worked on the project for LCHS. Jeff Falkenstien was the instructor for LCHS.
