The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1311 N. Jefferson around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a press release.

The release states the single-story home was vacant and, on arrival, the department saw “heavy fire” from the front porch exterior. The report does not say how the fire started, but that it remains under investigation.

HFD was on scene approximately three hours, the release says, and additional aid was provided by the Hutchinson Police Department, Kansas Gas Service and Westar Energy.
