Authorities investigating fire at storage unit in east-central Topeka

Authorities are investigating a storage unit fire that broke out in east-central Topeka early Friday morning.

Topeka Fire officials say the blaze was called in around 1:40 a.m. in the 300 block of SE 20th St.

Authorities say light smoke was coming from a storage unit in that area when they arrived.

Crews quickly got the fire extinguished.

No one was seriously injured. Although, one firefighter was treated for dehydration.

The fire caused about $20,000 in damage.
