A 20-year-old man is dead after police say he crashed his motorcycle into a car in West Wichita on Friday night.

First responders arrived to the scene near 2nd and West St. at approximately 8:15 p.m. Once there, they pronounced the motorcycle driver dead.

Investigators say the motorcycle driver was northbound on West Street. When the driver of a Dodge Charger pulled out to go south, the motorcycle driver hit the vehicle.

The Critical Accident Team arrived on the scene, but a spokesman for the Wichita Police Department said they haven’t determined whether speed was a factor. He also couldn’t confirm whether the man was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Charger, a 65-year-old woman, was not hurt.
